Steal A Tree! is a Roblox tycoon developed by the group Juice Society where you steal saplings from wild zones, sprint back to your farm before gnomes tackle you, and turn harvested fruit into juice for queued NPC customers. Every mechanic in the game feeds directly into this loop: treadmill training and trails increase your running speed, plot expansions unlock more tree slots, and juice upgrades maximize the cash earned from each customer sale.
The Core Gameplay Loop
The entire gameplay cycle revolves around leaving safety to gather saplings and managing automated juice production at your base.
- Walk across the safe-zone boundary into the active wilderness. Gnomes and patrols will ignore you until you pick up a sapling.
- Grab a target sapling from the ground. Your character will visibly hold it, which immediately alerts patrolling gnomes.
- Sprint directly back to your base plot. If a gnome reaches you before you cross into the safe zone, you get knocked down and lose the sapling completely.
- Equip the stolen sapling from your inventory and place it onto an empty plot slot.
- Wait for the growth countdown to reach zero. Once mature, the sapling transforms into a fruit tree based on random chance.
- Collect automated profits. Matured trees automatically drop fruit into the juice vat, and queued NPC customers buy the juice to give you cash.
Surviving Gnomes and Speed Thresholds
Gnomes guard every harvesting sector outside the safe zone. Escaping them is determined strictly by your movement speed stat rather than platforming tricks.
Wild areas feature signage indicating recommended speed thresholds before attempting a grab. Early zones suggest 50 to 250 speed, while intermediate biomes such as the beach, cavern, and volcano suggest 2,500, 10,000, 50,000, and up to 250,000 speed. Attempting to take deep-zone saplings without matching the speed recommendation usually ends in an instant tackle from high-speed gnomes.
Players can also carry defensive items on their hotbar. Items such as the Bat and Bear Trap appear in player inventories to slow down pursuers or disrupt competing players who are fighting over contested saplings.
Treadmill Training, Mini-Games, and Speed Trails
Your movement speed stat increases passively whenever you stand on the treadmill installed at your plot. While training on the treadmill, your trees continue dropping fruit and generating juice sales in the background.
Players can also engage in optional mini-games on the treadmill to stay active while accumulating speed. These games include Flappy Bird, Perfect Hit, Stack Tower, and Circles (a sequence memory game). Upgrading your treadmill tier accelerates base speed gains, and dedicated game passes provide specialized models.
| Treadmill Tier | Purchase Requirement |
|---|---|
| Wooden Treadmill | Default starting equipment |
| Iron Treadmill | 50,000 cash |
| Golden Treadmill | 500,000 cash |
| Candy Treadmill | 99 Robux (Game pass) |
| Void Treadmill | 299 Robux (Game pass) |
To multiply your raw running speed further, visit the Trail Shop. Trails provide flat speed multipliers that significantly lower the risk of getting caught during a run.
| Trail | Rarity | Speed Multiplier | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grey Trail | Common | 1.5x Speed | 1,000 cash |
| Green Trail | Rare | 2.0x Speed | 25,000 cash |
| Purple Trail | Epic | 2.5x Speed | 100,000 cash |
Plot Upgrades and Farming Gear
Spending money on your plot requires balancing three upgrade paths: expanding tree capacity, increasing the volume of juice sold, and multiplying the value of each drop.
| Upgrade Type | Observed Level / Tier | Cost | In-Game Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Juice Income | 1.1x Multiplier | 10,000 cash | Multiplies the cash payout for all juice sales |
| Juice / Customer | 2.0x Multiplier | 25,000 cash | Doubles the quantity of juice each NPC buys |
| Juice / Customer | 3.0x Multiplier | 125,000 cash | Triples the quantity of juice each NPC buys |
| Expand Plot | Expansion 1 | 15,000 cash | Adds additional tree planting plots |
| Expand Plot | Expansion 2 | 150,000 cash | Further increases farm boundary and planting capacity |
The Gear Shop provides utility tools to manage your trees after planting:
- Shovel (1,000 cash): Allows you to uproot and remove unwanted low-tier trees to free up plot space for better saplings.
- Watering Can: Used on mature trees to temporarily boost fruit production output.
- Fertilizer: Applied directly to growing saplings to immediately shave time off their growth timers.
Tree Rarities, Mutations, and Server Events
Saplings do not disclose their final tree type until their growth timer completes. Basic saplings can mature in a few seconds, while high-tier or exotic saplings can take minutes or hours unless accelerated with fertilizer or Robux skips.
| Tree Name | Confirmed Rarity Band |
|---|---|
| Apple Tree | Common |
| Strawberry Tree | Common |
| Plum Tree | Epic |
| Pear Tree | Legendary |
In addition to basic fruit varieties like apples, bananas, papayas, and coconuts, saplings can trigger special mutations. Server-wide events modify tree yields and mutation rates:
- Blood Moon / Red Sky Event: The sky turns crimson, temporarily activating mutation opportunities on newly spawned wild saplings.
- Cosmic Rift Event: Triggers specialized glowing saplings across the zones with elevated income multipliers.
Claiming Free Progression Rewards
Beginners do not need to rely solely on stolen saplings to get started. Several reward systems grant cash, speed boosts, and starter saplings:
- Quests: Check the quest log frequently. Chained achievements like Coin Collector, Juice Seller, Upgrade Master, and Sapling Hunter award large bundles of cash and free saplings as you complete basic tasks.
- Playtime Rewards: Remaining in the server grants timed gifts, including cash sums like 25,000 coins and flat speed injections up to 10,000 speed.
- Daily Rewards: Logging in consecutively grants milestone bonuses, starting at 1,000 cash on Day 1.
- Admin Boosts: Occasionally, temporary server-wide multipliers (such as a 10x speed training boost) become active, making it ideal to remain on the treadmill until the buff timer expires.
